SgSL 203 Course

Synopsis

Completing the intermediate series, this SINGAPORE SIGN LANGUAGE SgSL 203 COURSE focuses on advanced applications of visual-spatial rules, semantics, and classifiers in complex communicative scenarios. Students will engage in exercises that challenge them to use SgSL in abstract contexts, including personal and social communications. This course aims to enhance students' precision and flexibility in using sign language, preparing them for advanced studies and interactions within the Deaf community.

Learning Outcome
Upon successful completion of the SgSL 203 course, students will be able to:

  1. Mastery of Visual-Spatial Rules: Exhibit mastery over visual-spatial rules, applying them adeptly in complex communicative scenarios to convey nuanced information and abstract concepts.

  2. Precision in Sign Language: Achieve greater precision and flexibility in sign language use, enabling effective communication across a broad range of contexts, including personal and social communications.

  3. Advanced Classifier Application: Apply classifiers in advanced scenarios, demonstrating the ability to use sign language fluidly and accurately for detailed and sophisticated expression.

  4. Engagement in Abstract Contexts: Confidently engage in exercises and conversations that involve abstract thinking and complex linguistic structures, showcasing a high lelvel of interpretative and expressive skill.

  5. Readiness for Advanced Studies: Complete the intermediate series with the necessary skills and knowledge to embark on advanced studies and interactions within the Deaf community, equipped to handle the subtileties and complexities of SgSL.

Upon successful completion of the course assessments, including a final examination, students will receive certificates of completion. These certificates will be issued in two formats: an electronic copy, sent via email to each student's registered email address, and a physical copy, distributed in person during the last session of the course.
