After taking a break from regular SgSL classes since June 2025, I am pleased to share that ExtraOrdinary Horizons will be resuming classes in August 2026.
The past year has been a period of reflection, learning, professional growth, and exploration. During this time, I have continued my work within the Deaf community while also rethinking how SgSL can be taught in a way that is more structured, engaging, and sustainable for learners. Our SgSL Learning Pathway The revised pathway provides learners with a clearer and more structured progression: 1) Beginning-Basic Levels: SgSL 101-103 2) Intermediate Levels: SgSL 201-203 3) Advanced Levels: SgSL 301-302 In addition to formal courses, I will also be introducing workshop series that focus on visual communication, creativity, and Deaf artistic expression. Topics include Classifiers in SgSL, and Visual Vernacular (VV). August 2026 Intake I am excited to welcome both new and returning learners to the first intake following this break. Available SgSL 101 schedules include:
Wednesdays, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM. Starting on 19 August 2026.
Thursdays, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM. Starting on 20 August 2026.
Fridays, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Starting on 21 August 2026.
Participants may indicate their preferred schedule during registration.
Thank You To everyone who has previously attended classes, workshops, and events through ExtraOrdinary Horizons, thank you for your support, patience, and continued interest throughout this period.
I look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new learners, and continuing to build bridges between Deaf, Hard-of-hearing, and hearing communities through Singapore Sign Language. See you in August 2026!
